What a year. Some of the best scoring ever. No rainouts and good times!

Matt Tiarks and Jason Headley took the championship. Matt and Jason took over the league lead on Week 9 and held onto it throughout the remainder of the year. Check out the "Playoff Bracket" for the play-by-play.

After the rounds of the night, we all enjoyed the banquet feast (Thanks Roger!) and then Nick handed out the awards. Below are the Champs - Jason and Matt.

Going back to the "best scoring ever comment", Matt Weddell did it again. He had his tenth scratch or better round (4th in a row). He shot a 34 in the final week. Six other players had scratch or better rounds this year. See the "Score Log", those low rounds are highlighted.

This solo skin solidifed Timmy as the Skins winner of the year. He and his partner, Mike, had quite the haul! Well done! See how you did, or didn't, below. :)

I believe the weather was somewhat on the warm side.

We had several notable rounds. Matt Weddell did it again. His third in a row. He shot an even 36. The other two were by Jerry (34) and Matt Tiarks (36). These two were playing each other to move their teams along in the gold. This was Jerry's 2nd in a row. WOW!

Weather was not horrible. It was warm and sticky. Being on the Red nine and a few holes down in the hole, it was worse for us. We don't get much of a breeze in the hole.

We had two notable rounds. Matt Weddell did it again. He shot 34, two under. His handicap has now dropped to an even zero. Jerry had his 2nd notable. He shot a one under, 35! Well done, guys!

This coming week is the second week of our tournament. See the "BRACKET" link, on the right, under the "Yearly Stat Sheets". One loss in the playoff and you are out. While you are "in", you can only use subs with established handicaps. Also, if you are "out", your score will not count in your handicap calculation. Your scores will earn points and they are also good for the skins.

Five winners on the Red nine this week. Chris, JD, Matt W., Roger, and Bob. Holes 1-3 skins came from the same foursome. Weird!

Weather was better. It was not hot; however, still a little sticky. It was great and big relief. We had a big rain overnight and the greens were soft and slow.

We had two father and son pairs out playing this week. However, they were not on the same team. The Merkleys were actually playing against each other. The first time this has happened. Dad (Bob) prevailed. The other was the Weddells. Again on seperate teams. However their rounds were highlighted by their scores. Harrison shot a 4 under (32). He had 1 eagle, 3 birdies and one bogey. This ties the league record that Matt set ealier this year. Congrats, Harry! Matt also had a great round. He shot a 2 under (34)! Good golly! They were not the only ones to do well. The league shot the best average we have had this year. We shot an average one under, 35! Nice. The soft greens and the pressure to try to get into the Gold tourney must have played a part.

Hot and humid1 I was absent, but I know the weather was predicted to be fairly misserable.

The weather did not hold you guys back. You averaged a scratch (36) net.

This week is the last week of regular league play. The race for the gold continues. There are many teams in the mix. I could see any team through 12th place having a good round and leap frogging into the gold tounanment. NET 5 has the top spot locked in.

Five winners on the White nine this week. Mike and Tim, who are on the same team, win AGAIN! They are both on top of the skin winners, as well! We also had Greg, Burd, and Chuck joining in. Great weather this week. It seemed as through the dew point dropped sooner than expected. Low 80's with little humidity set us up for a comfortable night!

Even with the receptive greens, the scores were on the high side. League averaged a 38 net.

Two weeks remain in the regular league play. It is a race for the gold and perhaps the lead of the bracket for that coveted first week "bye".

This past week was not as brutal - warm and humid, but at least we had a breeze. This coming week looks like another repeat with some rain chances mixed in. 

Scoring was much better this week.  We average a net 36!  The scoring was capped off with another crazy good round by Matt Weddell.  He had a one under, 35!

Skins:

Two winners on the Blue nine this week.  Jeremy got a birdie, net eagle, on the hardest hole, #3.  Dean did the same on the par 5, #9.  Jeremy moves into 2nd for the year on collecting skin money.

This week was brutal - warm and humid, with no wind. The temps were in the 80's, but with dew points in the 70's, it was sultry.  This next week looks like a repeat, hopefully with a bit of wind.

Another tough night for scoring.  The league average net was a 39 again!

Three winners on the White nine this week.  Merical had a miracle birdie on 2.  Dean did the same on 6 and JT on 8.

Well it is official, summer has arrived!  It was a warm and humid one!  However, I must say that it wasn't too bad.  We had a nice breeze throughout and that helped with the comfort level.  Then toward the last few holes, it seemed the storm to the north brought in some drier air and it was like someone turned on the air conditioner.  Great finish to the night.  

The weather wasn't the only "hot" thing out there.  Matt Burdette had one HOT round.  Burd finished two under par, for a 34!  His first time scratch or better this year.

It was a tough night for scoring.  The league average net was a 39!

Skins:

Two winners on the Red nine this week.  Burd had two skins with bridies, net eagles on #2 and #9.  Greg joined him with a birdie, net eagle on #3.  Greg gets a skin while also having his worst round of the year.  That takes some of the sting away.  Nice work, guys!

Weather-wise, we got lucky again this week.  Bookended with some HOT weather, we got the nicest day of the week.  The clouds parted ways and warmed it up a bit, but still very nice compared to the other days this week.   

Skins:

Two winners on the Blue nine this week.  Roger had a birdie, net eagle, after sinking a 45' slider on #4.  Gary was the only par, net birdie, on #7.  The 2nd half of the season starts this week.  We added Jeff LaMontagne to the skins game.  That increases the payout to $125.  Jeff has joined the Dead Hookers for the remainder of the season.

We landed on the hottest day of the year, thus far.  The humidity showed up too.  However, there was a nice breeze and that kept the heat in check.  Really, it was a pretty good night. Except for our scores.  As a league, we tied our worst average.  We averaged a 39 net.  

Skins:

One skin winner, again this week.  Ruben gets a birdie, net eagle on #5 on the White course and earns your $5!  Ruben's first skin and he leaps into 4th place in the money race.

Position Night was excellent - weather-wise.  Damn near a Top-Ten Night!

We had another amazing round.  Jerry comes in way low.  He shot a 33!  Damn!!!  One away from the league record.

Two skins on the Red nine this week.  Birdie net eagle for both Nick and JT.  Nick had a scary shot from the rough.  He had to carry the entire lake on #2 to a tight pin.  Nailed the approach and the 15' putt!

It seemed warmish during the day, but when we stepped on the first tee it seemed like it cooled down quite a bit.  No need for a jacket, but it was a cool evening. 

Another Weddell did it this time!  Harrison, Matt's son, shot a one under!  He finished his round with 3 birdies!  But Wait!  We also had another notable round.  Mike Pluta, after struggling a little bit, found his game and shot a scratch round!  He had one bogie and one birdie.  Nicely done, guys!

Skins:

One solo skin, again!  It was not Tim this time.  It was his partner, Mike Pluta.  As mentioned above he shot one birdie, net eagle on Red #6.  Ok, now that you both have your wallets full, please let some of us others back in!

Weather was pretty darn good.  It was cool enough that they majority of us wore long pants.  It started off fairly windy, but seemed to calm down as the round went on.  

Matt Weddell did it again.  Matt shot another scratch game!  The dude has found another level this year.  He was the only player in the thirties this week.

Good scores were hard to come by this week.  We had an average net of 40!  That might be a record.

Skins:

One solo skin!  Lucky Tim cashes in on Blue #7 for his 2nd take in a row.  He also won a skin last week. 

Weather was good again.  Great temps, no humidity, but it was windy throughout the round.  At least we were on Mako.  Mako seems to be the best nine for some breaks from the wind.

We had a record broken this week.  Matt Weddell shot a 32!  That is right a 32!  Amazing!  Four birdies and five pars.  He has had 3 scratch or better rounds in six weeks.  No wonder he is now a zero handicap.  

Skins:

Three skins this week!  Tim, Chris and Jerry get 3 birdies, net eagles, on the Red nine.  My birdie was at least a 30' put to get some shoe money!  

Weather was good.  No humidity, nice temperature, but it was a touch windy at first, but seemed to calm down as the evening rolled on.

Skins:

Lots of skin this week!  The Blue nine produced.  Jeremy, Mike, Roger, and Rick all have some great holes to get in on the action.

Rain was in the forecast.  It moved in as the tee time approached.  The rain stopped and we got out after a 15 minute delay.  We were not held to cart paths, it ended up being a great evening.  A touch on the cool side, but not a lick of wind!  

Another notable round for Matt Weddell.  Matt shot a TWO UNDER (34)!  I assume he was throwing some darts into those soft greens!  Jealous!

Team score were interesting this week.  All matches, except one, ended up in a 6-0 result.

Solo skin this week.  Clark takes it all with a birdie, net eagle, on White #9.

The weather this week was interesting...  Looked ominous, but some forecasts showed the storms slipping by to our south.  It slipped by with nothing more than some sprinkles, but the lightning got a little too close and caused a  ~15 minute weather delay. All good!

Three skins!  Par for JD on Red #7 and birdies for Nick and Matt T. on holes 5 & 9!  Nice!

Again, we had some great weather except for this damn wind!  I did skip a step on the sheets last week, resulting in Billy, Billy, Billy not being on top going into this week.  Not much of a shake up, but sorry for the oversight.

We made it out of the gate!  Great weather except for this damn wind!  We had one notable round. Matt Weddell starts out firing on all cylinders.  He shot a one under, 35!  Nice way to start.
