2019 Final Results

Great year for golf!  After crazy spring with massive flooding, the golf gods shined upon our Wednesday nights.  Good year, good friends, and good golf.  Thanks again to Roger for his continued sponsorship of the league.  The award ceremony was awesome!

The final playoffs did not seem to be as tight as the previous couple weeks.  One thing for certain, Jeff LaMontagne was a game changer.  Quite an end of season run to help out several teams - including the champs!  To see how it all lined up, check out the Playoff Brackets.

2019 Champs!

Jeff & Barry - Winner of the 2019 Final Playoff.  Jeff was subbing for Dan.

Place Names Award
Champs Barry and Dan $200
2nd Place Jason, Matt and Jason $100
3rd Place Pat and Greg $70
Participant Champ Nick and Ruben $60
Participant 2nd Tim and Troy $40
Point Score Leader Jerry $25

Thanks to Dave Shapland for organizing a fun contest for those teams that were out of the playoffs.  He put on a "One Club Tourney".  You picked one club and you used that for all shots on all 9 holes.  I was surprised at how quickly they moved along and there were some really good scores.  You can see who participated.  On the score sheet, they will have a "n" in front of their score.  That "n" stands for "no score" and the score is not used in handicap calculations.  Randy Pierce and his handy 7-wood won the contest with a net 40.  He took home $55...  Well, all of the $55 probably did not make it home.

The final skin was won by Josh with a birdie on #8.  #5 was all ties.  We will start fresh in 2020.

See you in January for our Winter Social and then in April for the kick-off meeting and first week of play!  Stay warm, my friend.

Leader(s): The A-Rod's (Barry and Dan) - The Jason's could not quite keep up with Jeff (sub) and Barry.  They actually took over the point lead too.

Point Scoring Leader (PSL):

Jerry Evans is locked in.  The winner is declared at the end of the regular season.  Regardless, Jerry hung on to the lead throughout.  His average went down a bunch.  He is at 1.56, now at the end of the season.

Corey Shanahan - Corey gets his best of the year.  Keep it up!

Pat Walsh - A natural one under!  His second time he has been one under on the league.  I did some programming on the "Score Log" to highlight all scratch rounds or better.  Check it out.

2 35 33
Jeff LaMontagne - Third mention in three weeks.  Dude has this game figured out. That little rough patch at the end of last season is a distant memory.

6 40 34
Ruben Lopez - Second mention on a row.  Ruben will always rise to the occasion.  Just ask his wife!

Team 10 - Barry and Jeff -
Seems appropriate that the winners should also be the low team.  Nice work, fellas!

Score Cards 101:

We have two player teams. Write down the visiting team's lowest handicap's name, then the home teams lowest handicap's name. Then do the same for the highest handicaps. If your two players are tied, you make the call before teeing off the first hole. Please write the first and last name for all subs. If they are a new sub, please note that too. After the line-up, all I care about is that you circle the gross hole score of the player who wins the hole (match play) and your total gross score. That is all that is required.

To figure the handicap holes for match play (the hole you give or take strokes), figure the difference of your handicap and your opponent's handicap. Then the higher handicap gets a stroke on that many holes. They get the strokes on the hardest handicapped holes. The handicap for the holes is indicated on the scorecard. The lower the number, the harder the hole. No more than one stroke is given per hole. Nine is our league maximum of stroke for Match Play.

That is all that is required. My software will calculate everything else. I certainly do not mind if you figure out all the points. It allows me to double check the data entry. If you would like a live tutorial, please ask. It only takes a minute, so please ask.
